Do you agree with this statement? I read it at REDIFF (INDIA) and many other articles I read. However I still seek further opinions, as to whether India would be a super power by 2010 or not?
I personally agree with this, but partially. I think India can be a super power, but you ought to define what is being a super power like. Is it like being US or China or UK??
Besides you don’t need a deadline to change a country. I think change starts in the mind. If we BELEIVE we can, noone can stop us.
What do you think?

I just wrote like a HUGE Comment and the whole thing vanished..
I think you already know my views on this one. Besides, Rediff publishes some of the worst articles..believe it or not..some of them are serious rip offs from google..Check out BBC if u want to read something true.

Actually, it depends on what exactly you mean by superpower…Militarily we are very weak, we have 40% of the world’s poor…So, if ur speaking of what an average person will gain, I dont think it will be anything great, atleast not by 2010! I have my doubts, 2010 is just around the corner…

Well i did not exactly mean by military power. But as an economic power, a highly developed economy with sustainable GDP growth.. Overall India has been progressing steadily over the past 5-8years, and if not by 2010 thn a bit later it will evovle as a dominant power in the global scenario.

even 2020 seems a distant vision…..though india has many reasons to be proud of, there are many loopholes around which dont guarntee anything……………
